ABOUT

Shifting Bodies philosophy is that everyone should enjoy the joy of movement.   We focus primarily on the movement of Dance,  Pilates and Yoga.  We practice by building physical strength, mental strength and discipline within each modality.  With time, dedication and practice your body will begin to shift, you will improve and most importantly you will enjoy your successes.  We are here to help you leave feeling empowered, proud and strong.

Founder, Michelle Osborne created Shifting Bodies in 2019.  Her passion for movement began as a child and continued with a professional modern dance career spanning 15 years.  She has been a teacher of dance for the past 20 years and draws on her knowledge of dance, athletics and movement in all modalities that she teaches.  She grew up running cross country and track, was a brown belt in Karate and also wore tutus and pointe shoes.  Being able to intellectually execute endurance, grace, power and strength blend exactly who Michelle is as a teacher, athlete and performer.

After the birth of her first child, she started to invest her time in formally training to teach other fitness modalities and subsequently received her Pilates Mat Certification, than her 200 hr YTT followed by her 450 hr Comprehensive Classical Pilates Training.  She currently teaches all Pilates Apparatus, Pilates Mat, Restorative, Athletic and Vinyasa Yoga and Dance.  She has taught students age 3- 86, ranging from gyms, private studios, K-12 and University.  Her favorite student is the one that wants to learn and strives to improve.

Since moving to Redondo Beach in 2019 she has worked at Equinox, Beach Life Fitness, White House Pilates, Cal State Fullerton, Gabriella Charter School, Choreographed for Family Theatre ( Lion King and Newsies) and has ran her own children's classes and adult pop ups. She lives in Redondo Beach, CA with her three children and husband.
